(idm) WARNING: Skinny Puppy; also Air@Chicago

went to the Air show in Chicago last night courtesy my astralwerks/NYC
retail friends. some of their friends at Nettwerk basically have to
fear for their jobs because apparently _no one_ actually bothered to
listen to the pressing of ReMix Dys Temper before it shipped. go
figure.

apparently whatever was pressed is not the Puppy album (can't tell you
what it is, wasn't specified). so they had to recall the whole thing.
so those of you Stateside/Canada going to stores today, don't buy
whatever is being stocked, and those who mail ordered, I would recommend
returning unopened.

anyone please feel free to confirm this, although there's no reason for
anyone to lie . just simple industry talk. I would give it a ninety
percent accuracy.

a little Last Rites deja vu, eh?

for those of you considering Air, definitely go. and don't expect the
album.

a serious obstacle for the band yesterday when the bass player's
girlfriend, who stayed on in LA after the band's Friday night show
(immediately after which they took an overnight(s) bus to
Chicago(Monday) - near 2000 miles people. whatever...), was in an
automobile accident, necessitating that the bass player return to LA.
so the band had to adjust, improvise and rehearse that afternoon, but
still pulled it off in fine form.

don't attend expecting the album. with a stage presence and spirit of
decication not seen since prog rock, Air interpetted and attacked their
album with fresh and divergent variations, and a coherent selection of a
few covers to boot. a version of "Tomorrow Never Knows" that puts the
ChemBros to shame, even before that whole Noel ugliness...

so go see if you're in Toronto today, even though "they're not idm."
even though they are.

and stay away from the Skinny Puppy until we hear otherwise.
