(idm) Studio 1?

Hi,

Can anybody give me a description of the (ridiculous 
number of new releases by) studio 1?  I heard it's
a little like CR/BC/PR stuff.  And who is Studio 1?
And why did he/she/they put out so many EPs at the
same time (around 10)?
