There is an interview with Air Liquide in issue 37 of Seconds magazine. The following blurb is from the intro: "Air Liquide first came to prominence at the 1994 'Robot Wars' in San Francisco, a Survival Research Laboratories-style mechanical battle of international acclaim. Their music was the soundtrack for the carnage, and the event was their debut American performance." As a "fan" of SRL and their soundtracks, the comparison caught my attention. I guess it was a little off base, which is typical of hyperbolic music writers :-) >np : Theme from Robot Wars - Engaged (Machine Invasion Remix via >Vapour Space and Mark Gage) > >This is from Air Liquide's 1995 double CD Abuse Your Illusions. I >don't know how this compares to the 10" release. This one's running >time is 6:41. /// Um, comments? Dunno. This is not my CD and I >wouldn't buy it (it's borrowed, in case you're wondering :-) ) >Kinda okay - a bit plodding and doesn't do anything for me. Sorry. > >So what's the blurb about the "Robot > Wars" event? > >I >* > >"Incomplete without surface noise" > - Autechre > > -------------------------------- "Let me reiterate: these are only allegations."
