Got this crazy cd by an artist called sha, titled _living room music_ ambient with kinda noise burst type things and cut up vocal samples , sort of?. five long(ish) tracks, nearly silent at points. one of them is called "pieces for/from radio" and is a fifteen minute piece of ambient bits alternated with what sounds like someone playing with the tuner controls on a radio. and another, titled "iteration" appears to be just five minutes of silence, until you put on some heavy duty head phones or a subwoofer... needless to say, it's killer, if you're in the right mindset. there is also a cd, that i've been meaning to pick up, compiling all the kunstradio releases and mixed by Pita. also pick up 'live at the park' (i think that's the title.. i'm guessing, maybe it's just 'rhiz', or is that the label? the packaging is kinda er. 'minimal') compilation. features just about everybody from the vienna scene: farmers manual, rehberg&bauer, curd duca, lots of sabotoge artists, etc. all live at the park. and, slightly off stepping what you're talking about is Sabotage/craft, though they often venture into a more experimental h[tr]ip hop sound. (btw, anyone else notice the 'borrowing' of mu-ziq's 'hornet' on the rhacoon track on _five_? at least they did something interesting with it, which is more than i can say for Mike P...) and, though not Austrian, lots of the things on the noton sublabel of rastermusic might intrest you. especially the most recent noto cd. >beautyon driving my friends into states of madness... beautyon?? they/he/she are on irdial, correct? any descriptions? >really really like the tulkinta album by 'ohm.' yeah, that's mika vanio of panasonic. most of the sahko stuff is kinda in the vein you're looking for. (though i was thoroughly dissapointed by the Philus cd, but hey, you win some you lose some). also try and get his _onko_ CD on touch [if you haven't already]. [btw, apologies about the late reply, been a bit behind on my idm reading lately... besides, it looks like no one else had anything to say on the topic.. i'm sure more than two people on the list dig this stuff! speak up, you!] mlt. _____________________________________________________________________ You don't need to buy Internet access to use free Internet e-mail.
