http://www.groovetech.com/demf (live feed 12am-12pm Detroit time) Excellent gig so far. 4 Stages and all kinds of people. The set by Scion and Tikiman was everything I'd hoped for. Some great DJing going on, too...Minx, Kenny Larkin, Theo Parrish and more than I can recall. Let me be the first to say that Bill VanLoo's live set was spot-on. I didn't know what to expect from him, but I was pleasantly surprised by one of the more creative/experimental sets I've heard down there yet. When are we going to be able to buy this stuff, Bill? Another surprise for me was Jason Hogan's set. Far more lush and varied than what one might have expected (given my exposure to him was limited to Peter and the Rooster). When I left last night after Stacey Pullen finished banging on the crowd, I could only think "It's about time". Word is this will become an annual event if Carl can pull it off. So far, the vibe has been excellent, people seem happy and the show has been great. Hopefully the perennial continuation of DEMF will provide plenty of room for *everybody* who needs to have a stage in future years. -- jeff "10,000 people all screaming the same thing at the same time are wrong, even if they're right." dancing/about/architecture "...with wandering steps and slow..."
