Chris: ya, forgot to mention this earlier: as greg says, most of us
writers/radio/dj people have "real" jobs (i.e. jobs that pay the
bills to allow us to do the writing/radio/djing). it's always
been sort of a private joke between myself and greg and
others that write about how "glamourous" this writing is ;)
to put it simply: yes, we are lucky and happy to get
a lot of promos thrown at us, but it sure ain't glamorous, chris.
believe me. nothing like editors screaming "duke, your column is late,
where the $%# is it?" while your "real" job is on the other
line going "duke, we absolutely have to have you come in
and work a double shift today, i know it's your day off, but..."
etc. wouldn't stop writing for the world, but hell, it sure
ain't glamourous :) Andrew
