The PAD should only be = necessary for input devices where you can=E2=80=99t simply turn down the = output level. For everything else, turn off the PAD and reduce the = output volume until your input levels are green. Of course, if you=E2=80=99re shooting for distortion then it=E2=80=99s = all a matter of taste.
