Re: [AH] Silica humidity beads

I have a collection of assorted desiccant packs, and tried to recharge =
them. What happened is that some were in paper packs that were folded =
and glued at the seams, but as soon as the heat released the moisture =
that had already been trapped by the silica, this moisture dissolved the =
glue and the bags came open. This only happened to some of them, since =
they were all different constructions from different manufacturers. Some =
hold up better when recharging, while others are clearly only designed =
well enough to work once.

One thing was clear from my experience - these bags had absorbed quite a =
bit of moisture already. The point of recharging is that they wouldn=E2=80=
=99t be effective if they=E2=80=99re already saturated.
