Some real quick impressions.... . Shuttle358 : Optimal cd (12k) Got the Shuttle 358 cd the other day and am totally floored by it's spacious deep textures mixed with rastermuic-ish digital effects. It's what i hoped b12's sound would have developed into if they didnt fall into the d&b pit that they did. Beautiful! . Nobukazu Takemura: scope cd (Thrill Jockey) Takemura takes on a very experimental and breath-taking sound on his new album. Kind of a mix of Ryoji Ikeda, Oval, Goem, and OST. . David Kristian: Woodworking remix cd (Alien8) . David Kristian: beneath the valley of the modulars cd (Alien8) I enjoyed the original cricklewood cd but with remixers like Aube, Farmers Manual, Goem, Reberg & Bauer, Disc, Lowfish, Phoenecia, Solvent, Justin K. Broadrick, Halfmoon Dragster, Square Root of Sub, and Inchoate, Kristian's Woodworking album is 100% better than that. The remixes by Lowfish, Solvent, Goem and Phoenecia are worth buying the cd alone! And if that's not enough, David unleashes another album this week too that is much more in the idm vein.
