i see what you're saying about 'out of the box' sounds, kind of like vulva.
but much like vulva, it's excellent use of these sounds.  it's an early album,
they were different musicians then, they had different gear then, they made
excellent music still.  it's just a matter of gear to tell the truth, as far
as what makes incunabula's sound.  but i play it a lot, mostly because it's so
chill and soft.  sometimes weak, but it's understandable.  when i first got it
i didn't think it was really autechre, but it was a pleasant suprise, like
"wow!  i didn't know they were capable of this sound, it's really nice."  a
nice break from their otherwise abrasive material.
