Well, i haven't posted in months, so i guess i'll load this belated post
with lots of questions, since i feel i'm out of the loop now(and always have
been). Recently discovered that warp material outside of squarepusher and
autechre's "Tri Rep" was to my liking(well, some of it). So i bought the
WAP100 cd, what better way to become more aquainted with their material? So,
here come the questions:

Boards of Canada: #1- What is the significance of their name?
#2- Is the song on WAP100 indicative of their
style? Its a gorgeous song...or are they usually more "bleepy" than
"ambient"?

Broadcast: Never heard of them...really cool track...VERY Pink Floyd.

Jimi Tenor: Groovy, weird song with a hilarious vocal sample of some guy
saying "I eat dollar hot dogs...like i wear my bikini"(i think that's what
it says)...is THIS song indicative of Jimi's style? I like.

Autechre: Well, here's the thing. I think Tri Rep is just about the best
electronica album i own. I also think that Evane is excellent. What i can't
stand, is the songs they do that are "bleepy". Like the one on WAP100. What
can i expect from Chiastic in terms of this style, and also the new one? I
don't want to blow 30 bucks(stinking imports!) if its not going to be to my
liking. I'm just not an ultra-bleepy kind of guy, even though i can
appreciate the talent and intricacies of such songs when they are done well.
I like smooth and melodious more. Or crunchy with heavy beats. But the
closer it gets to listening to an 80's video game, the less i like it. Ah
well.

I guess that's it for now...sorry for all the questions...just trying to
gain some knowledge about this legendary record label!

Later!
