now i feel bad for missing the first 2 PBO 12"s. anyone want to trade or sell
them for less than $15 each? i especially want the one with the oriental guy
on the cover. anyway, the Skam one. you get very nice graffiti logos on the
cardboard sleeve. we have 6 tracks. they go Skamish i suppose on a couple
tracks, but that's not bad. A1 and A3. A2 and all of side B are more
hiphoplike (and what i was expecting from PBO). B3 ("the hamocks") is
specially amazink, with "piano juggling by david seagul". a real groovy
numbah with several instruments coming in and out now and then, one of them
being jazzy piano bits laid in by that guy. the awesome bass thing (not the
deep one) that is panned to the right side and then later to the left is
great (like i just said in calling it awesome). it sounds a bit like the
sound used by autechre (the bass that starts the song) in Gescom Keynell1.
no, actually they don't sound alike. i pulled out the skampler (damn is it
phat! jeez i need to get some more stuff like this). but the PBO track
reminds me of this one although the sounds are quite different. maybe the
notes are similar. anyway 2 amazing tracks i am comparing here =). grab this
12". don't listen to the antihype. don't expect fast rapidly changing
breakbeats. it's not boring but it doesn't change every second. one of the
best skam i've personally bought (missed out on the first so many) and
probably the best record i've gotten since Shadow Huntaz on Plug Research.
