IOWA CITY BEATS AND RHYMES SOCIETY PRESENTS "HAVING IT" When: Saturday April 25th, 1998 5-10PM Where: City Park Iowa City, Iowa, Drollinger Amusements Who: Local DJ's (Moonrakker,DJ Tristan, DJ Earl-E, others) signup for open tables. Techno, Jungle, House, Hip-hop, and eclectica ... Directions: (from out of town) Get off I80 on the Dubuque St exit, and go south on Dubuque. At the first stop light, turn right and cross the Iowa River. Take the first right into the lower park, and follow the road around to the Ferris Wheel. Parking right at the park is limited, but if you continue past the rides there's a larger parking lot just to the west. This is happening just after Tack Fu Productions' appearance in the Riverfest Battle of the Bands. Guy and Sue Drollinger run a teeny amusement park smack dab in the middle of the City Park, and have graciously consented to us setting up a PA and tables amidst the Ferris Wheel and Merry Go Round. This unique setting on the shore of the Iowa River should make it a unique experience. And when before (or ever again) will you be able to ride a Ferris Wheel, eat cotton candy, and hear the latest jungle white labels from London? Beat and Rhymes Society is a loose confederation of hip-hop, house, jungle and techno DJ's and producers in Iowa City. Charter member Tim Tack and his crew (AKA Tack Fu productions) will be performing at the Battle of the Bands, a juried competition at the University of Iowa's Riverfest celebration. Tack Fu Productions will be performing at 4:00PM in Hubbard Park in front of the IMU student Union. Your attendance and enthusiastic participation will be greatly appreciated. Riverfest is an all-day affair with a wide variety of performances, food booths, and general jollity sponsored by the University of Iowa. In addition to our party in the park, there will be a free SKA concert in Hubbard Park that evening -- so there's something for everyone.
