well, since someone else started the thread on this stuff: from the Wesleyan Center for the Arts schedule: "New Music Series, Concert Multiphonique" : The Groupe Recherche Musicale founded in 1948 by Pierre Schaeffer, has been one of the primary sites for the development of musique concrete for 50 years. Daniel Teruggi, director of the GRM, will present Concert Multiphonique, a series of short works on tape by the seven composers of GRM, and a new work, Fugitives Voix. Tuesday, Nov 17, 9pm. tickets go on sale on nov 9. admission, 3$. -its more expensive if you're not a student, so i can hook anyone up with student tickets if interested. sometimes this stuff sells out. be prepared to basically sit on the floor, albiet it's in the form of giant orange carpeted steps, sort of. -there's an Anthony Braxton concert the next night if anyone is interested. -Wesleyan is in Middletown CT, 2hrs easy driving from NYC or Boston. for driving directions, goto yahoo and click on "map it", type in 222 Church St., Middletown Ct 06457 (if that zip doesnt work, try 06459). thats the box office, i dont have the exact address of the World Music Hall, but i can give you directions from the box office. if this doesnt work, ask me. -Amtrack is very expensive, and you still might need to take a cab, - Peter Pan Buses is the only company that stops in middletown, and its cheaper than Amtrack. they have a 1-800# of some sort. -from NYC metro north will get you to New Haven cheaply, but you'll need a ride(20min max) from there. -its about 20min from hartford if anyone cares. andy On Wed, 9 Sep 1998 02:14:40 -0500 Rodney Perkins <xxxxxxxxx@xxxxxxxxx.xxx> writes: >Whomever wanted to know about musique concrete should consult the >recent = >issue of The Wire with John Fahey on the cover (August?).
