>any comments on Aphasia ? >I've been listening to an unreleased CDR of them for months! >They have a history to them, I believe. > I have _Stereoisomerism_ on Korm Plastics. (A subdivision of Staalplaat that is devoted to selling bands with little/no history at cheap prices so they can get some exposure. Unfortunately those prices haven't shown up in the States, where they sell for about the same as any Staalplaat release, but you can direct order them for very cheap. 1cd=20 gilders including shipping, 5cds for 75 gilders...I don't remember what a gilder is, but I do remember that you could thus get 5 cds for very cheap in terms of US dollars. Nice idea to help out new bands...it'd be nice if more labels did this!) The back cover has a lot of information on the artist. Aphasia is Richard Johnson, but with sound contributions from others (on this album, sound was contributed by Brume, Toy Bizarr, and Dachise). According to this he also has out 3 cassettes and 2 split cds. (I think one is a split with Brume, but I'm not overly sure.) It is quite the mixture of noise, concrete, and jungle all in one disc. (The sound sources on this cd range from juno 60 and a multi-moog to frogs, stones, and barbed wire.) My only problem is that it goes from super quiet to super loud in matter of moments, so if you put it at a comfortable level you miss half the sound. ...but comfort never was of much concern to those in the work of "noise"...was it? [the noise and concrete elements of the disc are more prevalent than the jungle/techno portions!] Nice though, especially if you order it direct and get the cheap price. [Otherwise, you can get it at a reasonable price from Manifold Records or Soleilmoon.] --- Peace Hugs and Unity, Jason J.
