After seeing the Los Angeles show, I'd like to submit that maybe you're both
right.

There is no doubt that they played "Airwaves", albeit in altered form (slower,
for one). But there was a break and the entire song changed pretty much at
roughly the same time as the original ends (the original "Airwaves" isn't very
long). One could say that since the green oscilloscope pattern was used
throughout that it was the "same song", I guess. But with a full breakdown
and a complete change in the music (to something I alluded to earlier - "Aphex
meets Kraftwerk in an elevator" - with apologies to Derrick May), for all
intents and purposes the 2nd part was effectively a "new song". I know the
original well and I didn't really see the two parts being all that connected,
except for the use of the oscilloscope pattern throughout.

(Sadly, in LA the Candy Raver and Club Kid quotient was almost nill.)
