>Perfect example of a thing that really pisses me off with Warp is that they >don't develop their own up and coming talent, with the noticeable exception >being Ae. I've found this to be annoying myself. I seems that they just have to sign every decent electronic artist to their roster. In an article last year in the German rag, DEBUG, Warp stated that they were signing artists from smaller labels because they don't want them to escape to the majors (u-ziq would probably be a good example this). Granted they do have good taste, but there's something to be said about developing your own talent. >Examples being Aphex (R&S), Squarepusher (Spymania or Rephlex), Jimi Tenor >(Sahko), The Black Dog (GPR) and so on through the majority of the warp artist >roster. Moreover, Broadcast (Duophonic), Seefeel (Too Pure), Plone (Wurlitzer Jukebox), Boards of Canada (SKAM)... the list goes on. Mike.
