Were you editing on a consumer grade MD recorder (ie Sony MD 510/520)?
Their slow editing functions and confusing interface can make pinpoint
edits nearly impossible....sounds like you need a Pro-grade MD recorder...I
do a lot of MD editing at my job and won't use anything less than a Sony
MDS-B3 or B5....they're much more reliable when doing tight edits on
tracks.....
