(idm) Ae

I have two points for newbies discovering Autechre:

1. My first album was Tri Repetae. I have since bought a lot of the
aforementioned cd's, but this double cd still remains my favorite. I think
it helped me to appreciate their unique approach more than if I had started
with another one.

2. I was unmoved the first couple of listens. But my third listen (first
through headphones) really blew me away. Don't toss it until you've
listened a few times. I don't know if it grows on you, or the chaotic
layers start to come together or what, but once you get hooked, you become
another Ae fan like all the rest....

well, Ae isn't for everyone, and i don't think that "crushing" your
opinion would be even remotely worthwile (how do you crush someone's
opinion of what they like and dislike anyways?)....if you don't like
it, then you don't like it, and only a fool would tell you that you
should...after all, this isn't just a Ae mailing list, so you
shouldn't be expected to be a fan.
