Brad - Two of my favorites: Blech! - Warp CD comp. covering most of their back catalog, excellent retrospective on the label. Top that off with flawless mixing by Strictly Kev and PC (of Coldcut fame) and you've got one of the top mix CD's ever. A Brief History of Ambient Vol. One on Virgin recs. - Double CD comp., they're up to Vol. 4 but it got kinda spotty after Vol. One. It's full-on ambience rather than idm, but excellent nonetheless. Cuts by all the greats - Eno, Tangerine Dream, Hassell, Czukay, etc. Most was recorded in the 70's/80's but still holds its own. Excellent intro to ambient music.
