Guys, Many thanks for your kind words regarding my LP and for all of your questions. I'll answer in bulk to save bandwith. > This is really gorgeous and interesting stuff! I'd love to buy the > real version of it when it's out. Some fascinating tones and really > euphonic, compelling compositions. When we're hearing "multitracked" > sounds, is that just the looper? I think the VCS3 (with TKS sequencer) or the Synthi AKS are among the most inspirational, inspiring and versatile instruments ever created. My rig is limited to those machines and I have not used anything else for my music over the past few years. Yes, there is a vast amount of misconceptions regardind the EMS synths. To put things simply, anyone saying these instruments are unstable, cannot be played chromatically and are principally glorified sounds effects generators, is wrong. With loopers, as we use them, it takes seconds to records polyphonic structures, so while not being polyphonic instruments, of course, they are very much polyphonic the way we use them. Same goes for all of the "regular", rhythmic stuff (including the very convincing and eqully cheesy snare drums that I'm a huge fan of). The learning curve might be initially hard but it's very rewarding afterwards. Regarding the LP, those 14 pieces are a selection from about 200 that I recorded when we were rehearsing and recording the Pin Park album. 50 of these were mastered, so I will gladly upload the remaining 36 if anyone's interested. They are very diverse. As I mentioned, I used a very, very limited rig and the Boss looper (RC-1) was, as I believe, the simplest one on the market. I hooked up three pedals to it for a hands free approach and did one more trick: since it's a stereo looper, I connected it to separate channels on the mixer and got two independent tracks for more versatility. The rest was played by hand. Every single sound you hear comes from the Synthi. I never ever thought about any of the material being released, so it has been flawed since day one - all of those live recordings went straight to mixer (so no mixing possible afterwards) and were then recorded onto a cheap Zoom recorder (with non-sate-of-the-art, analogue to digital conversion). If it had not been for my friend's "audio salvage" (he went beyond simple mastering, I'd say), none of this would have been possible. But then again, perhaps this under produced, cowboy method of music making sound quite unlike the things being released nowadays - very often seriously over produced. ------------------------------------------------------------ The LP in question can be bought here: https://www.hottwerk.com/hottwerkshop/prod_6523791-Maciek-Polak-Exercises-For-Synthi-AKS-Solo-Album-Limited-Numbered-CD-Preorder.html Pin Park's record is available here: https://pinpark.bandcamp.com/album/krautpark and I do have "Krautpark" on vinyl if anyone's interested. Thanks for the bandwith again, Maciek
