~ lithops 'didot' (a-music/eat raw) ~ earlier album? very different from 'uni umit' & perhaps more immediately enjoyable: shorter, more upbeat pieces. about as crazy as a richard thomas record. there's even a song featuring amp feedback antics. this slab is litterally full of music: there's music even on the run-out grooves. the vinyl is the heaviest in my entire collection, it weighs like a 78! anyway, i love it. buy on sight if you're at all a fan of the more experimental side of mouse on mars. ~ 310 'nod' (leaf) ~ nice, nice... but doesn't go very far. it's quite pleasant to listen to, but for some reason i get the feeling that 'prague rock' was a more satisfying listen (& i don't like prog rock at all.) go figure. extremely well crafted though. ~ wier 'laptop' (organised noise) ~ slightly messy minimal house. set for the dancefloor but enjoyable on its own. i'm not sure about the 'laptop' song itself but the rest of the slab is actually nice. not really my kind of stuff though. just thought i'd share... ~ david
