(idm) plug research

I'd like to second lance's recommendation of the Plug Research 2x12"
compilation. haven't heard the cd, so i can't vouch for the differences,
but this is by far one of the best records i've heard in quite awhile.
Been finding myself drawn, as of late, to much more dancefloor-oriented,
minimal-techno-affiliated music than the more stricly "IDM" (rephlexian,
warpesque, etc) affairs, so it's refreshing to get knocked on my ass like i
do by this comp.

in not-dissimilar veins, y'all might want to check out surgeon's "basic
tonal remake" (can anyone recommend futher surgeon records, past the 2
"basic tonal" pieces? there's a slew of stuff out there); and mike ink's
Mabstab M:I:5, which i brought up a week or so ago, is one of the most
wackest-ass, challengingest listens i've come across in ages.

lance (or anyone)--what's the rundown on mike ink? if i dig the studio 1
and the mabstab, what else is in that vein? (we've already that the studio
1 remixes don't live up to the originals.) and how do all the studio 1
12"s measure up? the only one i have is silver; any particular standouts?
