A 5 track EP, of which Le Soleil Et La Mer is the album version, >and a LSELM remix is by Black Dog, and utterly fucking brilliant, maybe >the best Black Dog mix ever, but I'll review it elsewhere. Two absolutely incredible tracks. >Link & E621 - Antacid (Evolution EVO07/Warp WAP59CD) - I think there was >also a 12" w/ Antacid I & II; I have a weird release - a white label of EVO07 wihtout the Warp catalogue number etched into it either. I doubt its a Warp white because of this fact so possibly Tom and Mark had promo'd it before on Evo or something...? >*Chaos & Julia Set - Unplugged rmx (Appaloosa EP - Recoil) - I haven't >heard this. I've got this. Very good old, lush chord styled d'n'b. The C&JS remix creates some more abstract beats whereas the originals are more DJ'able. Pretty lush. I was amazed by it when it came out but it might sound a bit dated now. Possibly. >Chameleon/Global Communication - Evolution Of The Beast Parts I & II (Palm >Skin Productions - The Beast Remix 12" - Mo Wax MW029) - Chameleon >fabulous. Don't forget there's an Autechre remix on here too, though I >prefer Mark & Tom's takes on the song. The Ae mix is another incredible track. I prefer it to Tom/Marks "Oooh - this is on Mo'Wax so we need a trip-hip and/or d'n'b remix". But Tom/Marks remixes are both pretty good. >Secret Ingredients - Chicago, Chicago 12" EVO062 (Evolution) - I haven't >heard this; I assume it's House. Yeah. If you don't like _New York_ you won't like this. >Pelusha - Isolation EVO035 (Evolution) - 12" & CD (I'll be happy to trade >my 12" for the CD) w/ 2 tracks. Each side is close to 10 minutes long, >and is beautiful beatless ambience. More like Global Communication than >the last two Global Communication singles. Yeah, really good. Done by Mark and Kirsty his girlfriend who used to be in Opus 3. My promo is really noisy so I bought an artworked copy as well. >Reload - Archive 12" EVO036 (Evolution) - 3 tracks - Soaring 7:43, 6-8 >Rhodes 5:37, 4-4 rhodes 4:50. I haven't heard it. _Soaring_ is a beautiful slow(ish) Detroit techno track. The 'soaring' bit describes the chords which erm, do. A beautiful melody pops in later over some understated 303 burbles. Simple effective track. The two versions of _Rhodes_ differ in the time signature - both are warm but slow with subtle breakbeats and those deep GC basslines and cute, melancholy melodies. Excellent 12" - I have a promo with the black and white ULP/Evo logo on one side. || [CiM] || xxx_@xxxxxxx.xxx || - ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com
