Big ups to Nate Harrison who sent me a copy of his new EP, Nanofunk,
released under his Jack Russel + Lou Frutiger guise. It's a home burnt job
on his own Toshok Labs label, but you wouldn't know it unless you looked
really close - professional looking printed cover, nicely designed disc
label, etc. Beautiful.

And beautiful as well is the music. 5 tracks of dark, skittering,
melancholic IDM that should please the ears of many on this list. Yum. It
appears to be a limited release, so perhaps Nate can everyone know how to
get a copy.

Only 6 days into '99 and I've already got a favorite record of the year.

PS: Almost forgot - Nate's also got a great track on the Premillenial
Soundscapes compilation LP that sfwd is putting out soon (when's it due,
Mr. sfwd??). The comp as a whole leans more to the experimental side of
things, but really appeals to my old school industrial/experimental
upbringing.
