Check out the oval/microstoria site for an interview with Frank Metzger on
how oval's music developed, especially around the time of "systemisch."
You'll be surprised by the primitive setup they used to create this record.
Frank has been most generous in sharing his thoughts on this topic, as
well as photos and other information--eventually there may be posted the
picture of Markus Popp playing the bass guitar circa 1991!

Also, I have to admit that I like the new mouse on mars single
("distroia"). It's different, yes, but they are never ones to maintain a
consistent "sound." If you listen to the transformation from "vulvaland"
to "glam," there's a lot of variation and change. Yes, the new work is
more digitally oriented, but it maintains their approach: constantly
shifting beats and melodies as well as a under appreciated and gleeful
sense of humor.
