The MS-101 is crippled by the lack of transpose on its sequencer. I would make sure that this is working before any purchase. Its really amazing how the design group there missed the single most important function of the 101 sequencer. The entire reason why the synth was popular and widely used in the studio and on the stage. Its like going on a 6 month expedition to Antarctica and forgetting to bring any socks. Just wow! A single conversation with _any_ AH'r could have told them this. They have the ability to update the firware, lets hope they use it. For now, the MS-101 is an analogue monosynth with a keyboard, the current sequencer is comletely irrelevant. As a stringer lover, the VC340 is a welcome addition to the world. First new top octave divider based stringer since the Hohner String Performer. Of course, the Waldorf Streichfett and STVC are competing for my attention. The W. STVC is 150% the price of the B. VC340. This is awefully close. The Waldorf has a 4 octave keyboard. Interesting times.
