Got a nifty little brown-paper-and-twine wrapped package in the mail yesterday with lots of odd, foreign things stuck to it. Ended up being a copy of the "Artefacts" compilation on the Russian Art-Tek label that a couple of people posted about last week. This is a damn fine disc, folks! Has tracks from a couple of people you've probably heard of (Fizzarum, Solar X) and lot of people you haven't, ranging from lovely melodic electronica/IDM to post-Autechre crunchy-bits to goofy breaks to swirling experimental burblings. Here's hoping they get some North American distro lined-up soon! Also got the September edition of the 20' to 2000 series, this one by Noton labelhead Noto. It's good, albeit a little samey - 20 minutes of pops and clicks and things like that. It's the sort of thing you'd like if you like this sort of thing, which I do, so I do. Greg
