>The only one I know of is the "Hydrogen Slush" 12"er on Jazz Fudge, one of >their more recent releases. And easily one of the best hip-hop cuts of >last year. It's Vadim + Anti-Pop Consortium (NYC i think). Supposedly >there was an LP involving all/some of these folks that came out on P-Vine >in Japan, but I've yet to dig it up. When I do the price will only make me >shed tears. But score "Hydrogen Slush" at all costs. I don't know about all that! Don't get me wrong, it's a good track and everything, but one of the best of the year? if you're looking for downtempo abstract hip-hop w/ an decent bassline and semi-annoying raps, by all means... "your ears are my punching bag" ...ech. Don't know if it came out in '98, but one of my favorite hip-hop tracks of last year has to be "Reflection Eternal feat. Mos Def and Mr. Man - Fortified Live" Speaking of abstract hip-hop, anyone know anything about Toastie Taylor (beyond the Black Whole Styles appearance)? Any opinions on "Peanut Butter Wolf - My Vinyl Weighs a Ton"? Andrew (who needs to make a long-needed trip to Dusty Grooves to pick up some hip-hop) xxx@xxxxxxxx.xxx
