It's similar in the overall feel to Hawtin's "Concept" stuff, perhaps a bit less stripped down, more suggestive of actual melodies etc. Somewhat in the same vein (though perhaps darker) is the Elin "Stutzpunkt Wien-UFO Beobachtungen" CD, originally on Mego but reissued through OR. Though not really 'techno', the work of Carsten Nicolai (Noto) mixes very well in this company. He's kind of a modern-day Conrad Schnitzler in terms of the focus on repetition and isolation of pure electronic sound. --Harvey
