found some exciting news on the astralwerks website that i though might be of interest to listmembers: Wagon Christ is one of the projects by UK electronic wunderkid Luke Vibert. His first projects as Wagon Christ on the now-defunct UK label Rising High gained him acclaim as one of the more innovative electronic artists in the early 90's alongside Aphex Twin, =B5-Ziq, and Autechre.with his unique combination of ambient sounds, jazz, and manipulated beats. He has recorded under a variety of other pseudonyms for several labels including Rephlex (as Vibert/Simmonds), Blue Planet (as Plug, licensed to Nothing Records in the US), and Mo' Wax (under his own name). A first EP, The Power of Love, will be released in June on Astralwerks UK. It will feature one LP track and 4 non-lp tracks exclusive to this EP. June will see a Luke Vibert remix of Pitchshifter's "Genius" on the AMP2 collection In late July/early August a second single will be released with one album track and two non-LP tracks. The album, entitled Tally Ho!, siphons influences as wide as disco, hip-hop, early breakbeat/rave, drum & bass, and jazz into Wagon Christ's own sieve and comes out with something truly special and different. This is expected to be released at the end of August, beginning of September.=20 Other notable upcoming astralwerks releases: - May 5: =B5-Ziq - Brace Yourself ep (Astralwerks) - May 19: Q Burns Abstract Message - Oeuvre (Astralwerks) a collection of his early singles=20 - June 2: Wagon Christ - Power of Love ep (Astralwerks) - July 28: OWL: Remixed Low (Vernon Yard) a collection of remixes of Low by Neotropic, Porter Ricks, Thomas Koner, Jimmy Somerville, and Tranquility Bass=20 - August 25: Photek - Form and Function (Astralwerks) the 6 early singles, remixes of all of those tracks by Doc Scott, J Majik, Photek, Peshay, Grooverider, and Digital; plus 2 new Photek tracks=20 - TBA: Source Direct (Astralwerks) (debut full-length album) - TBA: Spacetime Continuum - Double Fine Zone (Astralwerks) (full-length album) - TBA: Q Burns Abstract Message - Feng Shui (Astralwerks) (debut full-length album) BTW: Does anybody know anything about the aforementioned OWL release?
