I don't think you don't have any option not to, both the mic and 1/4" TRS l=
ine inputs go through the mic preamp.

There is the tape inputs, but they also seem to go through some sort of amp=
lifier to give the switchable +4/-10 operation.

And the 8bus isn't a very noiseless mixer anyway, it will probably introduc=
e more noise into the signal than your unbalanced cable runs.

Are you picking up any hum/noise at the moment?
