I think I did some of that with drum trigger pads ---> pads to audio ins on the G2, bit of processing, etc. It was always 'event' based - ie. no clocked sequencers. Triggering a sound + maybe stepping through variances (can't remember if I'd have used seqs or random gens) Seem to remember it working fine.
