Almost forgot about this one in my last post regarding recent releases etc.. Solenoid (David Chandler) has been so kind to offer up a couple gems on cdr. One of them is his stuff as Solenoid called "May 99 Trax" which features his typical funked up IDM scratch and paste melodies and odd beats. Nice stuff if you you're into that distorted yet strangely enjoyable vibe that David has been putting out lately..I'll be playing a couple tracks from here on Friday's show, as well as featuring an interview for Grooves issue #3. Stay tuned for that one, should be really nice.. Oh, and before i forget, his work with Doug Theriault (Office Products) is quick bazaar as well. I haven't totally absorbed this one yet, but there's a lot of improvisation as well as many obscure samples from old film footage glued to a large palette of weird twitches of sound and other tasteful things. Kind of hard to explain, sorry folks..
