Yep, Brinkmann's got a new Ester Brinkmann release coming out soon, in addition to three Max.Ernst & Friends 12"s slated for March, April and May releases. I just got a minidisc of these tracks in the mail today (help? anyone in the bay area want to lend me a MD player?), and we'll be putting up samples/tracks on the upcoming Urban Sounds (www.urbansounds.com) very soon, along with interviews with Brinkmann, Carsten Nicolai, Richie Hawtin, and hopefully some mystery guests. Very soon. Really. And if you read the interview, you'll find out who recited the texts on the "Totes Rennen" cd on Suppose. (Ha! I've got you now!) According to Thomas, the next Max.Ernst records all represent a departure from the earlier Max & Ernst titles; he's sticking with the straight bass drum, but sampling heavily from American jazz -- Miles Davis, Archie Shepp, Thelonious Monk. And no, he reassures us all that "it's not an acid jazz record." I'm done gloating. ;) phil
