----------------------------------------------------- TO ROCOC ROT - 'She Understands The Dynamics' ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ label: FatCat (distributed by SRD) cat no: 12FAT007 (12" only) release date: Monday April 27th 1998 To Rococo Rot have been slowly but surely building up a pretty strong fanbase around the fringes of electronica, post-rock and dub over the last 18 months or so. Their sound, a superbly crafted (dare we say musical) concoction of spiralling analogue electronics, is genuinely, uniquely their own. They exhibit a delicate poise and musical tension that so many of their contemporaries critically lack. This music couldn't really be anything other than German: exactingly tooled, but undeniably beautiful. This release sees them straying further still from the herd, leading off with the drum & bass tempo 'She Understands The Dynamics', which will get under your skin in three spins. Precisely. 'She Understands The Dynamics' follows their 1997 releases on City Slang (the Paris 25 EP and the astonishing album Veiculo - one member of this office's album of the year...); appearances on The Leaf Label's Invisible Soundtracks: Macro 2 and the forthcoming Sounds From The Electronic Lounge, as well as an incredible Peel Session. To Rococo Rot are Düsseldorf's Stefan Schneider (also of Kreidler) and brothers Robert & Ronald Lippok from Berlin. These tracks were recorded in Hamburg in January 1998. The band will be playing two UK shows to coincide with the release of this record: Friday April 24th Blech, Powerhaus, London Saturday April 25th Test One mini-festival, Kelham Island Industrial Museum, Sheffield The tracklisting for the single is as follows: A. She Understands The Dynamics B1. Things Have A Way Of Happening By Themselves B2. A Rupture In A Fine And Steady Day
