I cant get enough of this one and am chomping at the bit in anticipation of new FX Randomiz material. I believe the next Sonig release will be a new Randomiz ep!!!! for those who dont have any FX randomiz yet, there are some sound- bites at: http://www.a-musik.com as well as on the mdos site at: http://www.mdos.at/detail-bylabel.php3?pid=457 >various - microscopic sound (caipirinha) > all the usual beep/click/beep/click etc suspects (except pansonic... >which i don't really understand). really, really odd (even if you listen >to a couple of the people who appear). really, really good. the goem >track is my fave, along with the digital one. some of the bass has to be >heard to be believed - you can feel it more than you can hear it. trance >inducing. Yes definitely a cool comp compiled by the 12k label headman & prolific producer Taylor Deupree. If you like this one then you'll love the 12k label compilation called .AIFF. It's very much in the same style with a lot of similar artists. I believe there are some soundbites at http://www.12k.com >Various Artists - 8,8.5,9 (fat cat) > Not the remix one (not sure if I got the numbers right). The first track sounds >like the various artists 12" but not 1/10th as good. I agree that this one isnt as good as the Various Artists 12" but a lot of the bc/cr records pale in comparison to the v/a 12". i do like kit's repetition & nonesense record. it's right in with the style of his cytrax releases with a few mimic & the model-flavored tracks in there as well. i disagree that kit's sound is a bc/cr ripoff but he's definitely heavily influenced by it. Overall kit's repetition & nonesense is a solid record. Also check Kit's recent 12" called Nek Purpalet on pole's new Scape label called. This ep is a little more downtempo than kit's dropbeat record but still well worth getting. >that awful carl craig innerzone orchestra record which is, well, awful. >Really, really offensively awful. I disagree with you on this one. the innerzone orchestra record is not awful, it's just very different. For me, it's mixes wonderfully in a jazzy techno set offering a real change of pace. The album definitely has it's ups and downs but, for the most part, i find it very entertaining. But to each his own... >Does anyone know who max kahlen is? Max Kahlen is a cologne producer & friend of Thomas Brinkmann. His first release was a 12" called Uwerk (or something similar) on his own Strom label. He has a tight minimal cologne sound very much in the Profan, Studio 1, Max/Ernst style. I first heard Uwerk when brinkmann dropped it on his dual tonearm setup during his live performance in cleveland last november. i was hooked after hearing that. for those of you who downloaded the thomas brinkmann live mp3 from the bent crayon website, the max kahlen track in one of the first two or three records he played so you can check it out for yourself. supposedly there is a second kahlen record out on strom but i have yet to see or hear it anywhere. it's definitely on my "must buy" list based on the strength of his first 12" if you want a little more info on max check his official (but somewhat out of date) website at: http://listen.to/strom -->-Lance--- xxxxxxx@xxxx.xxx xxxxx@xxxxxxxxx.xxx p.o. box 450715 westlake, ohio 44145 united states
