Yep I met the Carpet Bomb guys in New York when I was there recently and they said they were licensing Aquatic. Cool! The Necks are in fact and _Australian_ group, not New Zealand. From Sydney, where I come from. Lovely guys, and AMAZING live preformers too. Piano, bass and drums, creating minimalist, slowly evolving pieces influenced by jazz, funk, dub, minimalism and probably even hip hop... For those interested, they are: Chris Abrahams - piano/keys Lloyd Swanton - double bass Tony Buck - drums They have 6 albums out, including the soundtrack to the Australian movie The Boys that came out last year. Those Carpet Bomb peoples really have great taste (their Highways Over Gardens comp was one of the very best CDs of last year) and are quite brave releasing something that's superficially at least quite different stylistically. However, I think the music would appeal greatly to practically everyone on this list.
