Texas is not the best place for IDM, Austin is probably the best of all
cities in Texas. Dallas has some stores that are IDM friendly (The X, Bone
Daddy's in Denton, CD World in Addison and Mesquite, etc) - I know cause
I'm going around consigning 12"s to em. :) Dallas (and Texas as a whole,
unfortunately) appears to have a really indifferent attitude towards IDM
or anything that is not ravey techno.

There are those of us doing what we can to alleviate the issue, but it's
taking time. I find it really annoying that I can talk on txraves about
Proem (from Houston) and get stone cold silence. Bands that are even more
straightforward dancy like Symbiosis and Liquid 22 (Houston) have a hard
time getting booked at parties. And of course, all the rock clubs don't
deal with that kind of music either.

I wanna work up some sort of IDM party, but I've been short on money
lately, and quite frankly, I expect it would be a money pit from past
events I've dealt with.
