Dallas has some stores that are IDM friendly (The X, Bone Daddy's in Denton, CD World in Addison and Mesquite, etc) - I know cause I'm going around consigning 12"s to em. :) Dallas (and Texas as a whole, unfortunately) appears to have a really indifferent attitude towards IDM or anything that is not ravey techno. There are those of us doing what we can to alleviate the issue, but it's taking time. I find it really annoying that I can talk on txraves about Proem (from Houston) and get stone cold silence. Bands that are even more straightforward dancy like Symbiosis and Liquid 22 (Houston) have a hard time getting booked at parties. And of course, all the rock clubs don't deal with that kind of music either. I wanna work up some sort of IDM party, but I've been short on money lately, and quite frankly, I expect it would be a money pit from past events I've dealt with.
