I recall seeing Roger Linn's early videos and explanations of this
thing. Apparently it "quantizes" your sliding so you end up at the
right pitch unless you're so far off you're a half step high or low (I
don't know if you can turn that off). This might be too much help, in
that an experienced performer might not WANT this help, and might not
be able to do all the subtleties one might do on a violin or steel
guitar or even bending notes on an electric guitar.

I'm sort of afraid to try one out, my credit card would kill me.

Are there videos online of people playing it for the first time? That
might be interesting and instructive.

I should recheck the videos on roger's website and see what's new. I person=
ally have no interest in trying to play guitar like on a linnstrument... I =
can play guitar and so can half of the human population :)
