This makes me think of LTJ Bukem whose music I really like. I say
him because the music is hugely enjoyable but predictable. But his
style is described as 'breaking the rules' by the music press. I
suppose it's all relative.

How about this idea:
Music is order in the chaos of noise.
Noise (as in 'noise music') is not music but a different kind of order.
'Sonicly Interesting' is a description from Mr Twin that springs to mind.=
