>Maybe I just want pleasing sounds to wash my soul with. > >NOT innovation >NOT breaking of existing standards >NOT transgressing barriers > >Just PLEASE something enjoyable. Or relaxing. Or exciting. Or to = >shake my bones to. This makes me think of LTJ Bukem whose music I really like. I say him because the music is hugely enjoyable but predictable. But his style is described as 'breaking the rules' by the music press. I suppose it's all relative. >The very word "noise" as title for the book from which the thought = >process is taken says quite a lot. Noise does not always equal = >music. Well, not to my ears, it doesn't. How about this idea: Music is order in the chaos of noise. Noise (as in 'noise music') is not music but a different kind of order. 'Sonicly Interesting' is a description from Mr Twin that springs to mind.= -Ed
