not related to gential "humor", but related to obscenities: thinking back on the interviews I've done in the last year or so, the majority of the *swearers* :) have been British! but not all of them. i notice this because, though I'll quote *as is* for text features (that I'm writing up for the site and mags), I have to edit out any obscenities for the syndicated show because some stations play it early in the morning and at times when obsceneties are even more unacceptable: anyway i tend to notice who swears and who swears the most in the interviews i do cos i gotta edit more when an artist swears more and the 5 below had me doing plenty of edits!: here are the swearers I've dealt with from memory :) tie: #1 Carl Craig (plenty! with lots of passion in it :)) the Detroit representative :) #1 Jamie Lidell (passionate about his swearing, too) #3 Dave Clarke (plenty, but, where Lidell and Craig use the swear words as emphatic punctuation almost, Clarke reserves his swearing to times when he's pissed off) tie: #4 Neil Landstrumm (a "shit" or "f*ck" here and there, used when exasperated) #5 Cristian Vogel (a "shit" here and there, most notably when his landlord accidentally turned off the power causing him to lose a being-worked-on track that hadn't been saved, was relatively calm about the situation considering) andrew duke :) cl wrote: > although i usually avoid topics like this, i certainly have noticed the same > obsession with these topics. i am guessing here, but from what i have seen in interviews discussing behavior, many idm > artists are stuck in the junior high 'saying penis is funny' frame of mind.
