First of all, the constant barrage of complaints concerning lack of innov=
ation
on the part of this or that artist has gotten tiresome for the Nth time w=
ith
me, and I'm sure a few others. Has anybody on this list invented any new =
forms
of music lately? No. So hush already.

Second, if people can talk for days on end about supposedly relevant post=
-rock
bands that wouldn't know a funky beat if it gave them VD, then the rest o=
f us
can chat about ZZ Top. At least it's danceable, for Pete's sake.

Third, Bowie may cop style from others, and Earthling may have been poo t=
o a
lot of ears out there, but he still makes an average of two or three keep=
ers
an album which is more than a great deal of our favorite artists do. If
copping style from others is such a sin, then you've got a lot of work ah=
ead
of you- one hundred years of The Blues is lying out there waiting to be
denounced as uninnovative copycat trash.

Fourth and lastly, to whoever dissed the Rolling Stones- well, you can't
always get what you want.

Tom
