This is entirely speculatory, but surely a slow multiplex in itself = isn=E2=80=99t going to cause that kind of instability? That would = probably sound more like a delayed and jumpy reaction to the input. It seems to me much more like a blocking callback function. It takes a = certain amount of processing time to deal with each instance of an = input, and it isn=E2=80=99t triggering the samples while its still = dealing with that input. If this is the case, and Roland can=E2=80=99t simply use a non-blocking = callback pattern or make the callbacks more efficient, then it may = result in the input being stored in a buffer and acted upon when there = is time to deal with it, which would mean less responsive controls but a = jitterless solid clock.
