>but hardly worth >the attention of a big licensed remix project thingy. seems like the >mid-level indie electronica scene is beginning to fall for its own >hype (vvm/diskono as a wire cover story; ninja licensing a very samey >comp from a "hot" indie label). maybe i'm just out of touch... Maybe I'm out of touch, but Wire has hardly ever struck me as a big magazine of the putting people on the cover to sell ads variety. I figure putting the VVM folks on the cover is about as over the top commercial as when they put Steve Stapleton on the cover. Much like us licensing the E.F.B release from Chocolate Industries, there's really no 'big' commercial interest involved here. We all thought the original was wicked, and that it would be a good idea to license whatever Chocolate Industries came up with (plus it helps get the C.Industries name out there a bit). You might be reading a little to much into what is essentially just a low-key release that we (as in Ninja and C.Industries) all liked. Anyway, no offense taken, I think some people just assume we're a hell of a lot bigger then we really are. I thought the Squarepusher mix was the best one. I liked the weird double time thing he did with the vocal. Also the Freeform one I thought was particularly excellent. See Ya Jeff
