Hmm... that's a tough one. The only thing similar to The Snow is Love's
Secret Domain, the album from which the song is culled. Problem is, its out
of print and pretty hard to find. They have three collections of stuff that
can kinda be called retrospectives, called Unnatural History I, II, and
III. It is probably one of the best ways to get acquainted with the
various styles they have crossed over the years. Their earlier stuff
("Scatology", "Transparent," "Horse Rotorvator", "Gold is the Metal", and
"How to Destroy Angels") are noisy, angry stuff that still sounds great
today. Love's Secret Domain (or LSD, as it is commonly called) and its
sister album, "Stolen and Contaminated Songs" are more idm-ish. An album
released under the name Black Light District called "A thousand lights in a
darkened room" is darkly ambient, as are the Coil vs ELpH releases "Worship
the Glitch" and "Protection". Another fascinating release is Time Machines,
Four Tones to Facilitate Travel Through Time (or something like that). Its
over an hour f drones and stuff that sounds fan-fucking-tastic. And their
recent seasonal releases (Summer Solstice, Vernal Equinox, Autumnal
Equinox, and forthcoming Winter Solstice) take a whole bunch of styles and
throw em together neatly: drones, violas, noise, vocals... and other stuff
that i can't remember). So, start with whatever genre you find most
appealing. And then try to find the rest! :} oh, and if you're interested,
there's a coil e-list. details are somewhere on the brainwashed site.

Actually, I'd like to know what Mr. Balance himself would reccommend as a
starting point, considering he's on here....
