Depends on what is causing the noise but quite possibly yes.

Assuming they've got the internal gain staging correct, for good old 
fashioned hiss there is probably not a lot a firmware update can do, 
unless they are gating the final output volume, like the Alpha Junos do.

But noise could be control related (eg. obvious whining or heterodyning) 
and in this case there are several things one can do to reduce obvious 
noise. An effective example being randomising clock frequency and clock 
data to spread the noise spectra over a wider range.
