you just need some form of analog to digital coverter and a program to record that input to a wav. you *could* do turntable->amp->line in on soundcard, start recording from the line in (sound recorder in windows might even work, something like sound forge is ideal), and then save as an mp3 via the fraunhoffer mp3 codec or save as a .wav and use a dedicated mp3 encoder like audiocatalyst. line-ins on sound cards are pretty crappy though, you might look for someone with a good a/d converter like event's gina or gadget labs' wave8/24 (there are a myriad out there, used for multitrack recording). if you have a decent sound card though like a sblive or mx300 and cant find someone with a good a/d, the line in would probably be ok. -sean
