You want to get a recorder (right?) and the cheapest around is the Sharp MD-MS702 Portable, which you can get for $299.95US from http://www.planetminidisc.com Another retail outlet on the net is www.wholesaleconnection.com which has the Sony MZR30 for $329US. They have a home player/recorder (MDSJE510) for $249US. These prices aren't too far off from CDN $550, which is about $350US. I don't know what you have to pay in duty to get stuff into Canada, so I'm not sure how much you're likely to save.
