> What about minimal? pretty repetetive, yet i doubt you would be addressing > brinkman with that opinion. i don't know about that. unless thomas brinkmann (or any other current german minimalist you can think of) has some micro/macrosonic listening skills which makes him understand music instantly on different scales (& i mean time scales), i would think even he would have to admit that repetition is like, not only a side-effect of his kind of minimalism but even a building component of it. just to add to the idm content category, my 2 cents on the "boku mo wakaran" album by rephlex artist bogdan raczynski: if you can stand the afx-like child voices, then it would be wise that you take a listen to this, because the quantity & quality of the material that's on there is really surprising considering all that rephlex dissing that's been going on lately. i've only listened to it twice, & not all the way through, but what i heard has the potential to be one of my favorites of the year, perhaps. /me *heart* rephlex -- david turgeon at http://www.notype.com
